Fishing:Apple Valley Lake is a premier fishing lake. Many species can be caught such as large and small mouth bass, stripped bass, walleye, perch, crappie, shell cracker, cat fish and blue gill.
The lake was originally stocked in 1974 with walleye, brown trout, rainbow. Since that time the Fish Club and the Property Owners Association have had "specks" stocked to cross breed with the crappie and striped bass have also been introduced to the fish population. Walleye is still the prize catch and is stocked every year in large numbers up to 35,000 fingerings in a single year thanks to fish club fund raising activities such as the Annual Buddy Bass Tournament.
